Printmaking Reflection Post

The artwork displayed demonstrates a distinctive approach to working with the printmaking medium. The artwork conveys cross-hatching to create tonal value, thereby adding dimension to the work. Furthermore, the Linocut approach involves carving a reverse image on wood, which is then transferred to paper in an ink-stamp-like manner. Focusing mainly on the dimensions of the face, I depict a famous humanoid robot, Ameca from Engineered Arts.

Drawing Reflection Post

The two artworks displayed show two different approaches to working with charcoal media. The first work employs a dark-to-light method, in which I apply a dark layer onto a white background using charcoal through expressive markmaking. In the second work, I employed a light-to-dark method, using charcoal to block out the background. Then, I used a kneadable eraser to introduce light and tone. Through these, I emphasised the three-dimensionality of my works.
