This portrait is of my best friend jasmine. In Painting 3 and 4 class we were learning portraits and experimenting with colours and how to create skin tones. In painting content 3 I learnt how to differentiate cool and warm skin tones with the primary colours red, blue and yellow and using black and white in them without toning out the colour. For the blush I added a little bit of red and for the shadows of the face I have used warm blue and a bit of black here and there. In painting content 4 I used the technique of using block colours with white to tone out the colours but instead of 3 colours I have used 2, adding more expression in my portrait painting rather than just realism. These modules helped me to capture my friends features
