Amy Kennedy. Living that Artist Life. 2025. Acrylic Paint on Canvas.
This painting an expressionism still life painting of myself. Because I did this assessment last minute, I have spent the last 5 days 8am to 1am the next morning getting everything I have to do done. Because I am constantly crouching while I make my artworks and do my word documents on a bad chair, my back really hurts and I feel like a shrimp, with its curled up back. I am exhausted and I wanted to turn it humorous as a lot of artists can relate to it. In the painting I am painting in my room is messy with art supplies and clothes everywhere because I do not have the time to clean up and stressing about it. I am a shrimp with a tear down it’s cheek and a piece of paper that says deadline for my assessment. I just wanted to have fun creating this. I put perspective in my art which I learnt from Interior single point perspective to create an image that the viewer can see themselves in, especially the artists who can relate. Learning perspective has helped my painting create a relationship between pictorial spaces. I have used aspects of compositional experiment 2 by using only block colours to create more expression.
