Part 3: Professional Development Improvement Plans
Area 1 for Improvement
Area for improvement:
Confidence 2
Goal:
To be more proactive and open to using digital technologies that will enhance my personal knowledge and teaching for my students. I want to be able to know how to use digital technologies like Write that Essay, that are accessible for all abilities and learners.
How will you achieve this goal?
Having a low literacy background is difficult to advantage and increase confidence of students without the correct skills. Utilising Write that Essay as a toolkit for students to access when they are writing artist statements and digital portfolios in Visual Art. Practicing using the platform to create exemplars of assessments will increase my confidence to teach students what the best parts of the platform are to use for the visual art context.
Attend professional developments that are offered to improve skills when using the platform to teach. Utilise the teaching resources embedded in the platform to gain new skills.
Timeframe:
By the end of 2025 ready to implement for 2026.

Area for improvement:
Practicing digital wellbeing and safety 2
Goal:
Practice digital wellbeing and safety more in my own personal life to develop skills on how to help students be safe whilst using technologies.
How will you achieve this goal?
Utilise the esafetyyoung (esaftey comminsioner, 2025) website to develop skills to support any students who may be struggling with cyberbullying, harassment and mental wellbeing problems. Practice using the strategies recommended on the website to be safer online so I can prepare myself with strategies to use when approached with a problem or to help ensure students are spending a balanced amount of time online and offline.
Implement a class contract with a set of rules that surrounds the correct use of devices, internet access and language students should be using online and offline in the classroom.
Timeframe:
Set up goal: week 1 of term 1. Implement goal throughout year and restate expectations each term as well as reminders each lesson.
Area 3 for Improvement
Area for improvement:
Managing and operating 2
Goal:
Learn troubleshooting skills to solve issues that students may have with their devices or online software.
How will you achieve this goal?
Document common issues students have with their devices and attempt to solve the issues by finding a YouTube video that explains how to troubleshoot it. Follow any guidance from school IT technicians to learn how to trouble shoot devices or software.
Use the software students would typically use in their learning and learn basic skills that can be easily taught.
Timeframe:
Continuing timeframe as new software is being used and developed.
