I came up with an idea for the deep ground etching part of my modules based around a lighthouse glaring through the clouds, while sketching the concept I researched classic lighthouses and looked at my drawing, there was a lot of free space around the sides so I included octopus/kraken tentacles reaching out towards the lighthouse.

Then I transferred the image to a metal plate covered in bitumen and etched the details, then submerged into an acid bath and got the initial lines carved out and removed the layer of bitumen with turps, then placed bitumen in the areas on the plate that I wanted to appear lighter and used some spray paint to make it an aquatint. Repeated the steps a few times then printed on Canson Edition paper and made an edition of 10.
