Professional Practice is my ability as a teacher to educate a diverse range of students using a differentiated repertoire of strategies to ensure the students education is engaging, has well-designed lessons, aids in high order thinking and is a safe, inclusive environment with fair and equitable behaviour management strategies and plans. As a teacher it is my responsibility to regularly evaluate my teaching practice and adjust or request more training so that I can meet the learning needs of my students (AITSL, n.d.). I will collect, analyse, and interpret student data to diagnose learning area needs and to challenge my students to improve. It is my responsibility to be an effective teacher through all stages of my teaching and learning cycle, which includes planning for learning and assessment, developing lesson plans, teaching, assessing, providing constructive feedback on student learning, reporting and engaging with parents/carers, developing a behaviour management plan for the classroom and encouraging students to go beyond their perceived goals and to take every opportunity as it arises.
