From Builder to Teacher
The Brief Version…
My 33+ years in the Australian building industry (carpenter, builder, builder’s licensee, site foreman, project manager) provide a strong foundation for teaching industrial design and technologies. Experience in project management, site management, and construction translates to valuable practical knowledge for students.
I’m currently pursuing a Bachelor of Education (Secondary), specialising in Industrial Technologies and Design and Engineering Skills through the QLD Government’s Trade to Teach Internship Pilot Program. I’m well-equipped to bridge the gap between industry and education. My hands-on construction experience and teaching qualifications will enrich the learning experience for students pursuing careers in building and design.
My diverse background, technical skills (including design software), and focus on fostering problem-solving, communication, and project management expertise will allow me to deliver a comprehensive and engaging curriculum. As I learn the new rules of engagement and become equipped with good pedagogy, I will endeavour to impact student learning positively.
