Donalee Moriarty is a ceramicist creating in Tulmur/Ipswich.

Her ceramic practice is centred on architectural shapes and structures which require careful construction using clay slabs, and very slow drying to ensure the structural integrity of each piece.

Following this rigorous construction process, pieces are then fired in clay saggars, and oxides, organic materials and other combustibles are used for the unpredictable colour and smoke surface markings. As a result, each piece is an individual and reflects the colours of nature.

Donalee was a finalist in the 2022 North Queensland Ceramics Awards and the 2023 Siliceous Award for Ceramic Excellence, and is a member of the Board of Ceramics Arts Queensland.
