OneSchool is the Department of Education’s student data management application and is used in all State School in Queensland.
David discusses a range of uses for OneSchool and highlights how it can aide teachers in fully understanding their class and the data that is collected about students.
What are your thoughts of the software and how you might use it in the future?
This presentation is really beneficial, many teachers in the profession complain about not knowing how to use One School. This presentation is amazing downloading it and saving it FOREVER!
Hi Zoe, glad it was of use to you. The fact that you are currently using OneSchool would have made the session even more useful as you could go in and have a look at the features. Unfortunately, the department does not offer this session any more and there is a self-paced module that you can do once employed with the department…in your spare time 🙂
As an engineer, my eyes light up at the data available in OneSchool I am excited to use it when I begin teaching. Previously I have only used OneSchool to mark the role, and class photos to assist with learning student’s names which were provided by supervising teachers.
I note in your reply to Zoe that there is a module that we can do once employed… I’m assuming that we would be able to access it in the weeks before commencing a term so that we could plan our classes? I might take Zoe’s lead and download the presentation for future viewing.
This presentation was excellent and so beneficial for my professional learning needs as a pre-service teacher. I was overwhelmed with the amount of data I was presented with at my last professional experience but I now see how it all fits together and can be used to learn more about individual students learning needs that may relate to your teaching practice and/or other personal factors that need to be considered. The way it was explained was logical and practical. Thank you.
