Technology Demonstrators aim to integrate technologies and their corresponding digital affordances into curriculum and teaching. The initiative is in alignment with the UniSQ Education Plan and involves a scholarly and evaluative approach to develop practical understanding in how technologies and digital experiences may engage learners and support positive learning outcomes.

GoReact: Peer Assisted Study Sessions (PASS) program

Ben Ingram, Co-ordinator of Peer Learning at UniSQ has explored the use of GoReact to to assist Peer Assisted Study Sessions (PASS) leaders in reflecting on their facilitation of the PASS program.

Merging traditional First Nations knowledge and pedagogies with digital education technologies presents ongoing challenges. However, recent trials of new digital technology within the College for First Nations have produced some very encouraging outcomes.

Dr KC Chan, Senior Lecturer in Information Systems, identified a pedagogically sound approach to drive our exploration of Teams, by engaging Students as Partners. In this way, KC’s students are given the opportunity, and thus the agency, to be part of designing their own learning and collaboration space.

iSee Early Adopter Project

Online, Deadly First Nations’ Pedagogy

Sue Tuitupou is using technologies to support First Nations Pedagogies, specifically Dr Tyson Yunkaporta’s 8 Ways Learning Pedagogy Framework, to guide her students as they transitioned into UniSQ.

Padlet and Cognitive Presence

As part of her Digital Learning Initiative, Helen Russell, lecturer in contemporary music, sought to improve student engagement with course content, in a foundation music course. Essentially, we were asking if Padlet could promote cognitive presence.

Vygo for English Conversation Club

During 2022, Ben Ingram, Coordinator Peer Learning, pilotted Vygo within the English Conversation Club (ECC). Vygo is a mentoring platform that strives to make seeking and accessing help easy for all.

2020/2021 Projects

The 2020 Technology (and Digital Affordances) Demonstrator Special Initiative Grants connected with the successful Technology Demonstrators program offered in the past. This special initiative was offered with specific requirements to enmesh the technologies and/or digital affordances into curriculum and teaching (in alignment with the USQ Academic Plan) in Semester 1, 2021 in a scholarly, systematic, and evaluated manner.

Below are initiatives implemented in Semester 1, 2021. Final reports share outcomes and recommendations.
