Module 5, studio Exercise 5
Emma-Jane Murray is a Visual Arts Student at USQ based in Toowoomba. The skills she has learned include printmaking, painting, foundational drawing, sculpture, and ceramics. She wants to use her past experience to apply contemporary practices in painting, drawing, charcoal, and pastel mediums in the future.
Emma’s main concern is in generating imaginative narratives arising from her response to the physical environment or from her psychological and emotional world. The concept she wants to apply in her contemporary art is how nature interacts with the man-made environment and how they can work in harmony amidst growth and civilization. Emma subconsciously absorbs the energy of her world and then seeks to capture these moments in a unique way, translating them into magical memories that others can grasp and visually experience. She contributes to the art world by bringing up the issue of nature conservation in her art and showing how we can look after the world’s natural materials.
Emma is always interested in improving her perception and her skill in interpreting her subject matter and is committed to pursuing excellence in developing the language of painting and drawing.
Emma has exhibited her work in Community Exhibitions and Shows and has won various awards.
