Self Directed Work: Being Different

I have often wondered, how do we recognize a person in the crowd?
Is it by their features alone that define them, or is it their individual flare and what you know catches their spark once you know them well enough that distinguishes who they are?
Is it the look in their eyes, the silent ways they speak?
As if people’s whole personality metamorphoses inside of themselves and you know them well enough to know what they are like in different settings, alone together, or in the crowd.
The ways they try to adjust and feel a part of something more than themselves.
The things that make us feel different are not so different after all, cause we all have traits that make us feel that way, but that different makes us feel less alone when we connect.
And when we see them amongst others there is a part of us we recognise in them, that longing for belonging.
We are the same in different kinds of ways.
