Printmaking | Resolved Work 1

Resolved Work 1 shows varying elements to all other resolved works as it was created in a time when my mental health wasn’t the greatest. I believe that all my works have an element of my mental health state within them. Resolved Work 1 contains the emotions of sadness due to the colour palette but also due to the link of family as the image is one that was recurrent through dreams of mine as a child.

Printmaking | Resolved Work 2

Resolved Work 2 shows a drawing blown up onto a screen and printed on cotton rag paper. It uses the same colour palette as the other works as it is a familiar colour and resembles common feelings.

Printmaking | Resolved Work 3

Resolved Work 3 demonstrates the feeling of safety within abstractness with lines and shapes as the centrepiece. The Concertina book shows wording and phrases that provide comfort when everything else is hazy. The book also demonstrates a very monochromatic colour palette with only blue, black and white, this is due to blue being the colour I use to describe my everyday feelings with black and white being how I perceive the world around me.

Painting | Resolved Work 2

Resolved Work 2 shows various hues of colour to demonstrate how I perceive my mental state. The various colours splattered onto the canvas show the messy state of my feelings and emotions and the grey background shows my everyday outlook on life. The grey background has been scraped back with a palette knife to leave a ‘ripped’ effect that demonstrates all my past experiences which still affect my current feelings.
