Online global collaboration encourages students to learn with others from different cultures but is not typically embedded into formal curricula in higher education.

Well-designed online global collaborative learning has been found to transform learning and enhance skills such as effective communication, intercultural awareness and global perspectives.

Main question: What is known about effective Online Global Collaborative Learning (OGCL) in the higher education context?

Sub-questions:

  1. How is Online Global Collaborative Learning (OGCL) defined in the higher education (HE) context?
  2. What are the attributes of cross-institutional online global collaborative learning design (digital pedagogies) that include equitable access and co-creation of knowledge?
  3. What are the affordances and outcomes of OGCL?
  4. How do educators and  institutions prepare for OGCL?
