The Global Collaborator Mindset

Despite over 20 years of internet access in the classroom, online global collaborative, curriculum based activities are not typical in K-12 schools. Why is this? Why should we care and what can we do about it?

My PhD research centred on K-12 learning and educators who embedded online global collaboration. One outcome of this is what I call the Global Collaborator Mindset. Educators who adopt this mindset are more able and willing to connect with those beyond for global collaborative learning.

The Global Collaborator Mindset has four attributes: Connection, Openness, Autonomy and Innovation.

These four attributes provide a scaffold for effective curriculum embedded global learning pedagogy where students not only collaborate with others across borders but co-create and share new knowledge.
