The initial design used paddle pop sticks and the bandage material.
However, out of curiosity, I wanted to do a bit of experimentation about creating sort of fluff cuff bracelets, using leftover foam from the earlier sculpture resolved work.
They were hot, but I was curious about working with this very different, contrasting, almost polar opposite medium to the loose-fitting, cooling bandage material.
I thought this could be representative of light vs. dark, summer / winter, different seasons.
At this stage, I was looking at how the sculpture could be representative of different elements of weather, in nature – considering the paddle pop sticks were rainbow-coloured, I thought this could be an interesting theme to explore, overall. Different textures representative of different elements of nature, its softness, roughness, diversity, changing elements.
