I accidentally forgot about the Rainbow talisman that I originally designed, as a necklace.
I decided to adapt it, to be composed of metallic colours, rather than the traditional ROYGBIV combination of colours in a real-life rainbow.

I thought this would reflect on the magical qualities of the Frogicorn creature.
The colours used are: sparkly red, gold (in place of orange), bronze (in place of yellow), sparkly green, sparkly blue, sparkly pink (similar to magenta, however with glitter), and sparkly, deep purple (in place of violet).

To compose this, I decided to note create a fixed design, where each colour ray were symmetrical, or the same thickness.
I wanted the first, overarching glittery red ray to be very thick. I thought this would match, or help bring out the red in the Frogicorn’s eyes, and red cheeks.

Some frog species and some migratory, Australian birds sometimes have quite dominant, striking red colourations on their neck. I thought the rainbow in this variation, could also nod to neck colourations on some Australian amphibians and birdlife.

Some inspirations for this rainbow neckline, as a talisman, can be observed in:

  • the Australian Brush turkey
  • Red-winged blackbird
  • Frigatebird
