Universal Design for Learning

I am so interested in approaching unit and lesson planning using Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles. The idea that removing barriers to learning and giving students choices about how they access and interact with learning activities is really powerful, I think. As a new graduate, the thought of having to differentiate for each and every learner in a diverse classroom can be overwhelming. UDL provides an alternative, where students take responsibility for identifying and executing their learning strengths and needs, and teachers facilitate this by providing multiple means and varied materials.
