I have always felt energised and alive when viewing or participating in Art. I love Art that is not just aesthetically pleasing, but that make us think about ourselves within the world as a whole, to challenge how we are contributing to it. I am influenced by the open composition of impressionism, and the sentiments of Dadaism. I prefer the Observer to complete their own narrative. My summative work is a nod to the Memento Mori/Amor Fati concepts in tandem with the practice of mindfulness. I see through the scratched lens of a mature age student with a background in mental health. I am undeniably influenced by my exposure to suicide and fragile mental states. I particularly enjoy how clay can be transformed and incorporated into sculpture and get a real buzz for manipulating and transforming found objects.
