OneSchool is used to collect a wide range of information about students in Queensland State schools. It includes information such as enrolment records, academic results, behaviour, attendance, supports and intervention and record of contact with parents. As a beginning teacher OneSchool is a valuable resource for student data. Teachers can gather vital information about their students prior to the school year commencing on the class/student dashboard. Having access to and analysing this data helps in planning strategies for individuals and groups and classroom management strategies. Teachers can analyse student data and confer with colleagues and parents about student records, such as medical, custodial, behaviours, and language barriers.
From this data teachers can implement groupings for different subject areas. The data will show where students sit academically in each subject area throughout their enrolment at a state school. Once the teacher has analysed this data they can create and place students into groups. For example, at the commencement of the school year the teacher can place students into reading groups based on their reading level, which has been collected and recorded in OneSchool from the previous year. Additionally, it provides teachers an avenue of knowing which students require additional support, allocate resources and determine strategies to help student groups.
