Professional practice

According to Fisk (2009) quality teaching relies on data and research.  I believe providing students with a well-rounded education means incorporating research from outside the field of education, such as cognitive psychology and the science of learning. I strive to continually develop my practice through purposeful feedback provided by my mentor and remain reflective of my teaching practice. I have high expectations of all my students as I believe that all students are capable of learning and achieving their goals. I believe this focus ensures that each student demonstrates progress. I am committed to preparing and delivering engaging content aligned to the Australian Curriculum Assessment and Reporting Authority (ACARA, N.D.). Allen and White (2018) outline the ability to interpret curriculum and support materials as essential to effective teaching.

Lastly, I am committed to ethical and professional conduct. I aspire to uphold the highest standards of integrity, demonstrating fairness, respect, and a commitment to the well-being of all students. I seek to cultivate a positive and inclusive educational environment that prepares students not only academically but also socially and emotionally for the challenges of the future.
