My work explores the complexities of femininity and womanhood through the lens of lived experience, centring on the ever-shifting narratives of identity, sexuality, and the body. As a woman navigating middle life, I am deeply attuned to the physical and emotional transformations that come with time—transformations that are often overlooked or feared in mainstream discourse. My practice seeks to confront these themes, acknowledging both the beauty and the discomfort inherent in bodily change.

Motherhood, sexual expression, and body image are central to my exploration. I approach these topics not as fixed or linear, but as fluid, dynamic experiences that intertwine and evolve over time. The work is a conversation between my own lived experiences and the broader societal expectations placed upon women—expectations that often seek to silence or erase the complexities of our bodies, desires, and fears.

With a current focus on ceramics and sculpture, I aim to give voice to the nuanced emotions of aging, the fear of loss, and the power in reclaiming core identity. I am interested in the tension between societal ideals of youthful beauty and the natural process of transformation. Rather than shy away from the vulnerability of these shifts, I embrace them as integral to the fullness of womanhood.

Ultimately, my work is an invitation to witness the beauty in these transitions, to honour the multiplicity of experiences that shape us, and to find strength in the very things that make us human. It is a celebration of the complexities and contradictions that define our ongoing journey through life, embracing both the fragility and resilience that come with being a woman.
