As it was done on paper (despite being “canvas paper”) the tape tore the paint off the page.
Repeated on canvas, to much cleaner result.
Applied crackling medium to negative space where tape was placed as an experiment for my resolved work).
The same issue as exercise 1 presented, to much more dramatic results.
On canvas board. I did not seal the tape (didn’t have the matte varnish), so there is pain bleed. However, I like the effect.
Much less disastrous!
The crackling medium makes another comeback…
Rather than repeat randomly (it’s completely unintelligible given the dramatic expression), so anchored the image on the mouth.
