Module 3 – Ritual and Environment

Utilising the techniques developed in prior modules, I have developed a series of 3 objects associated with ritual and responding to an environment or activity. The first object is tied to rituals associated with the lunar cycle, with the moon’s phases painted atop a circle of mushrooms. The second and third are responses to the first object. The second object is a bowl that sits on the circle of mushrooms, being able to hold the remains of a small bird, mammal or lizard. The third object is a large open-bottomed container that can be place over the previous two so that the remains can be kept outside without being exposed to opportunistic predators. It will allow access to carrion insects by means of the holes bored all through the surface of the container, which can be partially buried to prevent other creatures simply tipping it over.
The purpose of this series is to allow assisted decay and decomposition of an animals remains without the use of chemicals or removing the late animals nutrients to be removed entirely from the ecosystem.
