When your Nan wants you to colour in the lines so it is ‘pretty’ and can show her friends and compare the cousins. The constant criticisms create a rebellious six year old who takes pride in colouring in ‘bad’.

‘Be Here’,’ 2025
13 bowls surrounded by 3 chairs, representing a dinner table and the shrinking number of people living in my home. Bowls are vessels for nourishment, and connection when eating together. A grouping of three mushrooms, stamped and scrafittied onto the surface around the bowl identify the past, present and future. The ‘present’ is the largest, speaking to the most important place of focus right now. Be Here, to enjoy the time that we have now, before the last child leaves home. 13 represents the moon cycles of a year, a reference to time, and what can happen in one year.
