CommunicatingLearning Objective: identifying, exploring and organising information and ideas   Success Criteria: Plotting information on a line graph correctly. Interpreting data from a table.  Materials Needed: Power point and word docs ready workbook, pencil, ruler worksheet
Introduction/Warm-Up: Revising what was done in previous lesson to get the students ready to flow into the new lesson.
Explicit Instruction:   Power point presentation to go through population profiles and line graphs. Look at how you read a table of data and be able to place this information on a line graph. Be able to look at a table and see what trends are going on and also be able to tell which has least and highest growth without a calculator.
Supported Practice: Do a we do by doing an example of a line graph on the board and ask where to place the dot on the line graph in an accurate position.
Individual Practice: Students are to position the set data onto a line graph and mark it out then answer questions about the table of data.
Differentiation: Student A and B need one on one help to plot and answer questions.
Students C,D,E,F need to be checked on to see how they are doing and If they are doing It correctly.
Students P and O need something extra to do when they finish before everyone else.
 
Assessment: Line graphs and reading data tables are required for a summative assessment. The worksheet is their formative assessment.
