I am Rani Deane, an emerging visual artist and wellness practitioner, based in Queensland, Australia. I am a student at the University of Southern Queensland studying the Bachelor of Creative Arts and Community Wellbeing. My main art making areas include painting, collage, and drawing – taking inspiration from my life experiences.
Growing up on a flower farm, with a florist for a Mum and botanist for a Dad, creativity and life would flow around me, and fostered my love of art making. One of my favourite ways to represent and showcase the many loves in my life is through painting them as the flowers and colours that I feel best represent them.
I am currently working as a Teacher’s Aide through Catholic Education, working with children with disabilities and disorders, running group activities that foster learning and positive wellbeing. I have worked across multiple institutions, working with primary and secondary students in both government and independent schools.
Once I have concluded my studies, I plan to become an art therapist. I will focus my career on youth work, opening and running my own business, providing creative outlets for young people to find.
