Unpacking my CV/experiences
Step 1: Download Mapping Table here. (some examples have been pre-populated)
Step 2: Using the mapping table document, read through your CV (or brainstorm your experience) and assign duties/tasks from your roles to the relevant Graduate Attributes column in the table (they may fit in more than one column). Once this is populated you should have a range of examples that demonstrates your experiences across attributes.
Step 3: Create a new post for each position/role/experience you have documented on your CV/mapping table. Give the post a title for example: Facilitator of events (2015-2021). In each post upload the position/role description which outlines your duties/tasks (if you do not have a description see the Example: Bank role 2018-2021 below for a template to follow).
Underneath the position description unpack each duty/task to provide in depth detail including the following areas:
- Audience- who are your customers/clientele (diversity and audience size)
- Context- where do you work- remote/regional/city, large/small organisation, non-for profit. What makes it unique.
- Currency- When did you work in this role (is it in the last 5-10 years)
- Frequency- Was your role a one off event or is it a regular role you hold? (for example: weekly, fortnightly, monthly)
- Level of complexity (novice to expert e.g., attending training as participant vs training facilitator)
Categorise each post to ‘unpacking’. It will then automatically appear in the list below.
Step 4: Upload your completed mapping table to a post and categorise to unpacking.
Final reflections
Once you have unpacked your prior experiences you can start to write 1-2 reflections (for a Minor) or 2-3 reflections (for a major) for each Domain area below. You need to address all 6 graduate attributes throughout your reflections. These reflection’s are designed to explore your knowledge and learning to show your ability to demonstrate the graduate attributes. Throughout your posts hyperlink or upload any evidence you have that verifies your reflective statements.
