This series of artist books were inspired by my mums property in Thornlands. Mums 91 years old and has looked after this 20 acre block of bushland for the last 25 years after dad died and has lived there for over 66 years now. It’s where I grew up and the whole family loves it dearly. We still have ring tail possums and brush tail possums, koala, wallabies, frilly necked lizards and an abundance of birds and other wildlife. I wanted to capture the trees, gardens and memories of place mum has cared for so well and that we all still can enjoy. The books were made from gel printed paper and collage, ink, water colour and pen.
