Slab built jugs- For this exercise I explored the importance of form and function, and expanded on my hand-building techniques by creating a slab-built jug. The clay was Finney’s Fine Blend. It was rolled out into a slab and cut into a rectangular shape, then this was attached to and oval shaped base. On one of the jugs I have added textured patterning and both jugs were glazed with a cobalt blue. The photos show the jugs prior to bisque firing; bisque fired; with glaze applied after bisque firing and after the final firing.
