Finding out more about colour theory and playing with colours was good fun. I really enjoyed this practical combination of art and science that can be used to determine what colours look good together. The colour wheel is the basis of colour theory, because it shows the relationship between colours. The general information about how colour is described was helpful as well…..Tonal Value – how light or dark a colour is; Chroma or Saturation – the intensity or strength of a colour; Harmonious Colours – this term describes colours that are derived from each other, and therefore sit near each other on the colour wheel; Warm and Cool – warm colours have more red and cool colours have more blue; Complementary – are warm and cool colours from opposite sides of a colour chart. Artists can use this information to create a particular look or feel.
