Scarlett Dior is an emerging multidisciplinary artist of film and design. Based in Queensland, Australia, Dior experiments with existentialism and metaphysics in the form of charcoal sketches, oil paintings, and short films. “I love the mundane and haunting; I want people to see my art and to feel enticed yet repelled, to feel uneasy and conflicted with truth of the world around them”. Dior’s art first garnered attention in 2022 when she received the Creative Generations Encouragement Award for her first oil painting, Incomplete Story (2022), shortlisting for an exhibition at the Gallery of Modern Art. In 2023, she obtained a people’s choice award for Deakin University’s ‘Visualize your thesis’ competition from a video she filmed and edited. Since then, Dior completed a study on genre and cinematography through her films, HUNT, Glad I Caught You, hunt., and, Don N’ Louise Can’t Find It!, which she won commendations for (2023).

Dior is currently studying a Bachelor of Visual Arts in studio practice at the University of Southern Queensland for both broader knowledge in creative decision-making and a refined taste in it. In the future, Dior wants to unite her passions for film and visual art through cinematography or multi-media art.
