Inspired by the rustic quality of film negatives, these etches are an abstract interpretation of a contorted woman’s body. Originally meant to be a realistic representation of a woman, this design quickly transformed into a patchy abstraction, – familiar yet undefined.
The arrangement of the prints is inspired by processing photos, pinned to a line. With some upside down and some right side up, these challenge impressions and contort prior interpretations of form.
