Concertina – Lino print on cotton rag paper.

‘Black, White and Grey’ is a visual representation of cyclical thinking, the revolution of thoughts that are simultaneously continuous yet finite in purpose.
The concertina depicts an animal food chain, beginning with large carnivorous animals and ending in dainty insects. A vase of dead flowers lays at the end of the chain, symbolising the wilting effects of overthinking.
This piece is a personal recognition of habits during depressive episodes, and altogether holds beauty in the equal power each creature contains to consume.
