In Semester 1 I have been continuing to explore foundational techniques such as coil building, slab building and hollow forms as well as slip casting.

My work is about the human condition and a quest for equilibrium, represented in tensions between elements such as texture, form and colour.

These coil built vessels were inspired by holotropic breathing techniques for releasing trauma. The larger vase, Internal contains a kneeling figure inspired by Alberto Giacometti’s figure sculptures, using the malleable quality as an expressive tool, as shown below.
