Sun Sets on JCU, 2024 | Ink and watercolour
For this artwork, I initially wanted to focus on only inking the buildings, highlighting details on windows and shape. However, after drawing
the bones of the building I decided it would be much livelier with colour, thus incorporating watercolour.
Originally using Copic Markers, I became very interested in the portrayal and abstraction of nature and greenery.
Starting with rough sketches using vine charcoal, focusing on the combination of natural and organic features alongside the industrialised
and man-built nature, and how the interact.
