Elation is a symbol of how the emotion of Elation should look. These pods were inspired by my ceramic pods which are based on a seed dropped from the ground in Queensland rainforests. This composition was painted with the techniques of using Colour Contrast from Colour Theory.
Reflective Essence is inspired by the beautiful feeling I feel when giving myself time to create in my drawing and painting studio. The vintage mirror in this composition is a symbol of being a gateway into the imaginary world of beauty where escapism is reality, and a place where euphoria is found. This conveys the experience of being a passionate artist who loses track of all time when creating artworks.
Blue is inspired by a pensive emotion. Beautiful, Deep and Still like a still blue sea.
‘The Road to Home’ is inspired by the familiarity of reaching home each day. The love, joy, hardships and life experience can be evoked by a familiar image such as one’s street, driveway or view from the doorstep.
The inspiration for Camelia Gardens was a place I would visit every Mother’s Day with my family as a child. Later after my mother’s passing when I was 25 years old, I would later take my young children to the Camilia Gardens to feel close to my much loved and missed mother. This composition evokes this lovely memory also for those who are closely related to me.
