The privilege of teaching provides the opportunity to nurture and prepare children to live and work in a global society in the twenty-first century. As a passionate educator, I believe in investing in young people so they have the foundational skills to be responsible citizens and life-long learners. I enjoy furthering my skills through professional development to provide the highest quality learning opportunities for the students I teach.
I have applied the skills and knowledge I have acquired from studying a Bachelor of Science (Psychology) to support students in both a holistic and individual way. I use these same skills to help students process their emotions in a healthy way, and develop perseverance through their studies. Similarly, my studies in the area of criminology and sociology from my Arts degree enables me to consider carefully diverse and appropriate approaches when interacting with students and their families who are experiencing difficult and sensitive circumstances. I have a passion for teaching, and consider it a way of life, not just a job.
