What is Engageli?
Engageli is an online learning environment that may be used for live meetings and tutorials, group collaboration and interactive tutorial playback. Your course may use this instead of or as well as Zoom.
Some of the classroom features include:
- Virtual tables: You will be “seated” at a table with a small group of classmates.
- Chat: Send messages to the full class, as well as individual classmates.
- Q&A: Ask questions through the threaded Q&A feature.
- Raise hand: Virtually raise your hand during class discussions to address the class.
- Notes: Take notes, including screenshots and annotations, which you can download at the end of class.
How do I access Engageli?
Your course StudyDesk portal will provide the link to Engageli. Watch the video at the top of this page for a quick start.

Using Playback mode in Engageli
Engageli has an excellent feature called ‘Playback’ where you can access the room and past live recordings asynchronously. Why would you want to do this?
- To catch up on a tutorial or other live session that you could not attend
- To meet with other students and discuss the course or work on a group assessment
