You will be using Categories and Tags extensively on your Portfolio site to organize your Artefacts and build a collection of Evidence that demonstrates professional knowledge, practice and engagement.

Using Categories

Categories help to organize posts on your Portfolio site, making them easier for readers to locate and making them more searchable. They provide a helpful way to group related posts together, and to quickly tell readers what a post is about. They can also be used to create navigational structure on your site.

Check out the slides below for a general overview of Categories:

Using Tags

Tags can be a bit more informal than Categories and should be meaningful to the site owner as well as readers.

They are useful for making your site more searchable, and for linking posts that share related topics together. For Education Portfolio users, they will also be useful for linking artefacts that share topics across the Standards.
