Experimenting with surface design – I have use of inlay or mishima technique for mark making. These ambiguous marks represent – possum scratched on the gum tree, scars on my body and the passing of time. The red is used to interrupt and bring the viewer into the present moment. I think this is the strongest of the experiments.

Another experiment, using a band of colour (underglaze), and similar motifs as above. This time I have used sgraffito to mark make. The sea green is very flat and looks almost plastic -not something I like. I will play around with the underglaze, adding oxides and testing until I have a result I like.
