Build a Bot Workshop Showcase

23 Aug 2022 | ThinkPiece | 1 comment

This video is a showcase of the recent ‘Build a Bot’ robotics class in the UniSQ Library Makerspace. Participants got a chance to design their own robot character in a choose your own adventure style workshop. In this session, they learnt 3D printing, 3D modelling, design thinking, electronics and Arduino skills. Each robot had two servo motors and an LED light to make the project come to life with flapping wings, jaws opening, tails wriggling and more.

This class is an example of how teaching STEAM vs. STEM can work, and how it builds a more engaging learning experience for participants by including creative aspects.

Find out more about the Makerspace

The makerspace will continue these sessions in upcoming holiday periods with separate 2 day sessions for both UniSQ students and local teachers.
