Meeting Notes
July 2023 Meeting
We continued to explore contextual definitions of online collaborative learning and the role of the teacher – related to formative and summative assessment. We featured the tool Voicethread and how it can be efficiently designed for online collaborative student learning, engagement and empowerment. Thanks to Lisa for sharing her Voicethread knowledge and application within courses and academic PD today. Please reach out to her if you want to learn more! Don’t forget we have a dedicated VoiceThread page full of resources, including recordings of the workshops Lisa ran for UniSQ recently.
RESOURCES: Session slides; session recording (in Engageli Playback); interactive Voicethread from the session (with links to collaborative Google docs) – jump in and share your ideas!

Empowering Collaborative Learning
I am always thinking about approaches to collaborative learning, especially when online and virtual. How do we ensure the student group assessment is successful? Does it rely on assessment design? (yes!). What else is needed? What are the pitfalls? What are the enablers?
